Foster Photo & Archive combines a love of producing contemporary photographic portraits and a passion for archiving photographs properly so future generations can also enjoy these family moments. Kate has a Bachelor of Arts in Photography degree at RMIT, an Honours degree from the Victorian College of the Arts and a Master of Arts by Research from RMIT. Kate has also worked for two years in a London photographic gallery in order to hone her archival knowledge and skills. Kate (Founder and Photographer) has ten years experience working for clients within the commercial and artistic photographic industries. They can also purchase archival pigment prints to ensure longevity and permanence of these precious family photo moments. Customers can happily and creatively print photographs in their own time from a USB stick. Foster Photo & Archive service and pricing structure has been specifically developed with the customer in mind. Kate is keen to pass on her archival knowledge to customers so they too can correctly store their photographic files and prints for current and future family generations. Correct archiving of photographs ensures ongoing access, preservation and documentation of family history. It was an epic, yet hugely rewarding process because it demonstrated that without proper storage precious memories can be lost forever. A couple of years ago Kate undertook the project of rehousing all of her grandmother's photographs to ensure they were archived properly. ‘Foster’ is Kate’s mother's maiden name. Kate soon realised how much she enjoyed working with people in a portraiture capacity to make them feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. It was in early 2013 that a few friends approached Kate (Founder & Photographer) to take some photographs of themselves and their families.
